5 Big Reasons to Choose the World’s Biggest Cruise Line

13th November 2017

Carnival Cruise Lines is the world’s largest cruise line, boasting no less than 25 ships and a huge four million guests travelling with them every year. So what makes Carnival so popular? Aside from their myriad itineraries, exploring everywhere from the oceans around Australia, to the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and New England, here are 5 big reasons to choose Carnival in 2018.

The Carnival Spirit has reached Australia

Carnival’s first ship to be based outside of the USA is of course down under, thanks to the growing Australian cruise market. Carnival Spirit runs out of Sydney year round, offering a competitive, luxurious cruising option for Australians. Carnival Spirit is nearly the length of three football fields, is 12 decks tall, and carries 2124 passengers. With the largest waterpark at sea in Australia, mini golf, the adults-only Serenity area, a day spa, a two-deck fitness centre, and multiple pools and spas, this is not a ship you’ll get bored on.

During the summer months Carnival Legend also cruises out of Sydney. Bringing the Caribbean to Australian waters, the ship not only evokes a tropical vibe, it also pays tribute to some of the most enduring legends throughout the ages Swim in the Camelot and Avalon pools, play your bets at Club Merlin Casino, and feast at Truffles Restaurant.

Seuss at sea

Carnival has forged a partnership with Dr Seuss, bringing a dose of unique fun and frivolity to sea. The kids, both big and little, will love a Seuss-a-Palooza parade, a ‘green eggs & ham’ breakfast, and myriad other Dr Seuss themed goodies onboard.

Carnival didn’t want any old burger joint onboard, they wanted someone who could bring the art of burgers to their Carnival Spirit sailings. Best selling American author, restaurateur and Food Network personality Guy Fieri was the man for the job. Guy’s Burger Joint brings the authentic roadside burger shack vibe onboard, serving up delicious burgers and hand-cut fries.

Sky Ride

What better way to enjoy cruising the high seas, and your mighty ship, than by soaring above it all? Sky Ride is a suspended bike system that moves high above the top deck. Use your pedal power to zip safely around the two-lane course. Currently Sky Ride is in full swing on Carnival Vista, and coming soon to Carnival Horizon.

The most innovative ship at sea

Carnival Vista, named the best ship of 2016, is the most innovative ship currently sailing the seas. Cruising the Caribbean, Carnival Vista carries no less than 3,934 passengers, has over 1,400 crew and weighs a whopping 133,500 tonnes. Home to the aforementioned Sky Ride, as well as a huge variety of onboard food and drink offerings, including Guy Fieri’s Big & Anchor Smokehouse, the RedFrog Pub & Brewery, Bonsai Sushi, and the Seafood Shack. In fact, there are more places onboard Carnival Vista that span the indoors and outdoors than on any other ship.

Get ahead!

Carnival Cruise Lines is debuting its brand new ship, Carnival Horizon, in 2018. The ship, which will carry 3,974 guests, will have sailings from Barcelona, exploring the Mediterranean, and New York and Miami, taking in Bermuda and the Caribbean. With ship delivery expected in March 2018, you can start planning your meals in the various onboard restaurants, your relaxation at any one of the pool decks and pool bars, and your entertainment and activities, both indoors and out. If you’re a fanatic about new ships and new sailings, this is certainly not one to miss.
