Emirates Makes Air Travel Exciting Again

31st October 2017

Do you remember the glory days of air travel? When the roar of a jet engine got the heart racing, and the quality of service made you feel a million dollars – regardless of your seat number? While the jam-packed departure boards of today can make flying feel commonplace, few airlines capture the sense of occasion better than Emirates.

The glitz and glamour of air travel in the 1940s and 1950s may seem something of a bygone era, yet Emirates, with its expanded network and unrivalled passenger experience is driving the renaissance. Wherever in the world you want to explore, Emirates can get you there. From its base in Dubai, the airline flies to over 140 destinations, connecting Australians to ever popular Europe, steamy beaches in Asia, exotic Africa and other far flung ports. The iconic A380, of which Emirates flies nearly 100, is capable of carrying 500 to 600 passengers and has truly changed the way we travel. Flight times are faster, cabins are quieter, and destinations further afield are ultimately more accessible.

The upper deck of the A380 is coveted regardless of the cabin you’re travelling in, yet Emirates have taken it to another level of luxury, with a First and Business class onboard lounge and bar. In fact, the A380 First Class cabin is something of a melange between luxury hotel, exclusive restaurant and pampering day spa, complete with private suites, showers and large screen TVs.

Emirates Business Class cabin is a cut above the rest too, with lie-flat beds boasting mattresses – they certainly didn’t have those in the glory days. In-seat entertainment has improved too, with Emirates’ ice entertainment system, which boasts over 2500 channels, regardless of cabin. There’s on-demand entertainment to appeal to even the most difficult to please, with music and games to movies, TV shows and books. Even better is that free WiFi is available onboard every flight, so you can keep in touch with people on the ground, and charge your devices with in-seat power outlets and USB ports at every seat. Airplane food, historically a little hit and miss, is something Emirates has also transformed into a gourmet affair, offering premium cuisine and beverages in all cabins.

The attentive service doesn’t stop at the aircraft door however. A chauffeur-driven transfer service is available to First and Business class travellers, while Emirates complimentary and pay-as-you-go airport lounges are award-winning for a reason: service, quality and style. Nostalgia for the glory days may still be alive and well, but the best time to fly far and wide in style is certainly now.
