Royal Caribbean International has recently announced its spectacular summer 2016/17 Australasia schedule, revealing a five ship fleet of world-class superliners. The jewel of the fleet is Ovation of the Seas – the newest and largest cruise ship to ever sail from Australasia. The magnificent cruise liner is part of RCI’s prestigious Quantum Class, boasting cutting edge innovation and a plethora of incomparable highlights. Read on to find out what you can expect on the revolutionary megaliner.
Ovation of the Seas Highlights
North Star – One of Royal Caribbean International’s most anticipated inventions is the shining North Star ride. The jewel-shaped capsule swings 360 degree around the ship at 300 feet above sea level for once-in-a-lifetime views of the sea and beyond.
Jamie’s Italian – Celebrated celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has teamed up with Royal Caribbean International to open his very own Jamie’s Italian restaurant onboard. Now hungry guests can taste tempting Italian fare all day, every day, even at sea.
SeaPlex – Believed to be the largest indoor sports and entertainment complex at sea, SeaPlex has a multitude of activities to keep all ages happy, including basketball, roller-skating and bumper cars.
Martini-Mixing Robots – You may have thought you’ve seen it all but RCI have designed every aspect of the ship to wow guests, including the bars. Watch in awe as your martini is shaken and stirred by two amazing robotic barmen.
Two70° – An expansive and transformative venue, Two70° boasts breathtaking 270 degree ocean views. In the evening, the room becomes a stunning stage for inspiring performing artists including high-flying aerialists.
At more than 168,000 tonnes, the Ovation of the Seas can carry almost 5,000 passengers with 16 guest decks and 18 restaurants. In addition to the host of innovative highlights mentioned, the ship also has all the RCI favourites including the FlowRider surf simulator, Casino Royale, rock climbing wall, ice skating rink and the Royal Promenade.
Ovation of the Seas is heading to our shores in 2016 but spots are filling up fast, so secure your cruise holiday today. The ship will be sailing predominately New Zealand itineraries during her inaugural mini-season.
A foodie at heart, I love to travel to the USA and explore their expansive culinary culture. You’ll typically find me satisfying my sweet tooth in an American candy store, sampling macarons in a quaint New York patisserie or stocking up on American baking supplies.
