Cruising with Carnival - What you need to know

One of the world’s most popular cruise companies, it is no surprise that many Aussie’s love to take to the high seas with Carnival. With a focus on fun and value for money, Carnival have coined the term ‘Fun Ships’ to describe their cruise experience. Whether you board Carnival Legend or Carnival Spirit, you will quickly become aware of the wealth of opportunities onboard one of these mammoth ships. What can I do?
Your days at sea will be filled to the brim with exciting onboard activities and entertainment. Both Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend boast 12 decks of fun that never stops, catering to the whole family. For starters, there’s the thrill and spills of the onboard water park, including the famous Green Thunder Waterslide and a groovy mini golf course. Try your luck with a game of bingo or live out your dreams of being a rock star with a round of karaoke. Look your best with a range of treatments from the hair and beauty salon or work off those extra calories at the state of the art fitness centre.

What can I see?
The main stage will burst to life with Broadway style-stage shows and performances that will knock your socks off. Expect extravagant productions with incredible dance, dazzling costumes and outstanding live music and song. Laugh out loud with hilarious shows at the Punchliner Comedy Club or relax by the pool and enjoy live music out on the deck.  The Sports bar will have your favourite teams on the TV 24/7, so you never have to miss a game. Budding artists can browse the art exhibitions or even attend an art seminar. You can also get a dose of retail therapy, by browsing the Fun Shops onboard.

Where can I eat?
Carnival offers an assortment of dining, snacking and dessert options. Your evening meal can be enjoyed in the elegant dining room or enjoy a variety of options at the casual Lido Restaurant. The Carnival Deli carves up fresh roast meat sandwiches and the Sweet Spot offers specialty made desserts including lemon cream pies and chocolate cheesecake. Most dining venues will also include kids’ menus with tasty treats like spaghetti and meatballs, hot dogs and fresh fruit and veggies. And of course, there’s also 24 hour pizza and ice cream to satisfy any late night craving.

What about the kids?
This will be one holiday where the kids will never get bored, with entertainment from sun up to sun down. Carnival has age appropriate activities for all ages, from toddlers right through to teens. Camp Carnival offers a huge range of activities for kids aged two to eleven years. Teens can hang out at Circle C and enjoy oodles of fun, from dance parties to outdoor movies, while young adults can play sports, video games and join karaoke at Club 02. There’s also a cool video arcade open 24 hours a day. Kids and teens – no adults allowed – can even make their own pizza with a pizza-making class.

Where can I go?
Carnival can take you to incredible places across the globe. Perhaps the most popular schedule includes a sail into the South Pacific, where you will come face to face with idyllic islands and beautiful beaches as you visit New Caledonia, Fiji and Vanuatu. The breathtaking scenery of Tasmania also makes for a top spot for Carnival cruisers or head over to explore the craggy mountains, pristine fjords and sparkling waterfalls of New Zealand. A little further afield, is the buzzing city of Singapore or visit the world class beaches of Hawaii.
