Family Adventures on the Beautiful Shores of Eco Beach

11th December 2014

There are so many options for exploring when you head to Broome in Western Australia. The seaside town that borders the desert is the most perfect launching pad for the Kimberley region and beyond. You could even choose to make the move down towards the coast to Perth. That’s exactly what we did. Just over one hour’s drive south of Broome is Eco Beach. The drive there is pretty straightforward - you just head out onto the freeway and take the signs. It’s on the journey you get a sense of how remote Broome is. Red dirt stretches out as far as the eye can see. There’s nothing quite like it.

And then you come across the gate to Eco Beach. The red dirt road winds through a cattle station and before you know it you see permanent bush site tents and more luxurious eco friendly cabins nestled in the bush land and the super luxurious have stunning views across the sea. And then you see it – the sparkly blue ocean. It’s simply breathtaking. It’s almost like you have your own private beach. White sand, a sheltered bay and views of the most spectacular kind were such a welcome surprise.

We spent two nights staying in a family cabin that was perfect for our family of five. To have the time to spend together relaxing is a true gift. At night we’d sit out on the deck and watch the wildlife. Wallabies would hop past and birds would dart through the trees. And during the day we’d make our way down to the beach and explore. When it got too hot we’d lay around on the hammocks set up under big shades or we’d pop to the pool.

The infinity pool that looked out to the sea, was one of the most beautiful spots I’ve ever swum and the girls absolutely loved it. The mix of ocean, bush land and luxury resort facilities was purely awesome. And the food was super delicious, so too were the cocktails.

This whole experience being the Escape Travel Holiday Reviewer has been so amazing. To be able to share these memorable experiences together as a family has been a true gift. We are so sad it’s come to an end.

Thanks so much to everyone for making our dreams come true. Thanks Escape Travel.
