Australia Zoo

One of the country’s most iconic attractions, Australia Zoo is perfect for a family day out. On your way to the Sunshine Coast, stop at the zoo and have the chance to meet and greet many native Australian animals. Enjoy the fascinating bird show, watch the amazing Sumatran tigers in action or get ready for the jaw snapping adventures of the crocodiles at the famous Crocoseum. The zoo is also home to giraffes, zebras, rhinos, cheetahs and many more mammals, birds and reptiles.

The Ginger Factory

Take the kids on a unique behind the scenes tour of a real life factory. The famous Ginger Factory at Yandina offers guests the opportunity to see how ginger is grown, harvested and used to create to your favourite ginger products. You can also learn about the making of honey with a Super Bee tour or jump onboard the meandering adventure boat. Take a leisurely ride through the gardens on the Ginger Train or sample ginger goodies at the Ginger Cafe.

Eumundi Markets

If you happen to be in the neighbourhood on either a Wednesday or Saturday, then pop by the Eumundi Markets. Often touted as being Australia’s premier artisan market, you will find a wide selection of items, from artworks and furniture to fashion and jewellery. There’s also a wealth of fresh food and gourmet goods on sale, perfect for a morning treat. You’ll also hear the soothing tunes of local performers as your browse the colourful stalls.

Underwater World SEA LIFE Aquarium

If your little ones can’t get enough of creepy critters or cuddly creatures, then spend an afternoon at the Underwater World SEA LIFE Aquarium at Mooloolaba. Stroke the starfish at the Tidal Touch Pool or take a stroll inside the walk through aquarium to see the incredible marine life swimming around you. Kids will love the playful antics of the resident seals or marvel at the translucent jellyfish. Adventure seekers can even take a dive in the shark tank or go swimming with the friendly seals.

Big Kart Track

If your kids have plenty of energy to burn or you simply want to feel like a racing car driver for a day, then head to the Big Kart Track. The largest commercial go-kart track in the country, you will have the chance to fly along the 1.2km raceway facing tight turns and surprising twists. There’s even a special supervised kids track onsite for younger drivers. Once you have worked up an appetite, take a break at the onsite cafe.
