One of the joys of New York is the seemingly endless opportunities to shop til you drop. Many popular retailers have chosen to make their presence known in the Big Apple with giant multi level stores offering the latest and greatest of, well, everything. To help you get started on your New York shopping list, here are our top ten must see stores when wandering the streets of Manhattan.

New York

Get your own little brown bag at one of New York’s most famous department stores, Bloomingdales. Situated on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Bloomingdale’s flagship store features eight floors of fashionable clothes and accessories. After a dose of retail therapy, you can then recover with a tasty morsel from the Magnolia Bakery found on level one.

M&M’s World
A three storey heaven for candy addicts, M&M’s World can be found on Broadway in the heart of Times Square. Devoted solely to America’s favourite candy, rainbow canisters are filled to the brim with every type of M&M imaginable. There’s also an assortment of M&M themed gifts and souvenirs to browse. Kids and adults alike will be in awe of this colourful candy outlet.

FAO Schwarz
Right next to Central Park, this legendary toy store is recognizable by the friendly toy soldier doormen, who will usher you in to this magical wonderland. Explore the impressive collection of games and toys including a massive Barbie section, LEGO land and Muppet What-Not Workshop. Have a dance on the famous Big Piano and relive your favourite childhood memories.

Century 21
On your way to visit the Statue of Liberty, stop by the mammoth department store, Century 21. Those willing to dig for a bargain are sure to find one with heavily discounted prices on leftover designer goods. Mainly featuring clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories, you might have to work for it but there are plenty of affordable treasures waiting to be found.

Tiffany & Co
Situated on New York’s iconic Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co’s flagship store boasts six floors of fine jewellery. Browse the complete range of Tiffany’s gold and silver jewellery, accessories, watches and gifts. This fancy store is well worth browsing even if you can’t treat yourself to one of their famous blue boxes.

Nike Town
Sports fans must head to Nike Town to get new kicks at the fancy five storey store. From quality athletic gear to iPod friendly shoes, this outlet showcases all the latest Nike gear. On the fifth level, have the opportunity to explore the NikeiD Studio where you can customize your own merchandise including your very own sneakers.

Disney lovers of all ages will be enchanted by the famous Disney store in Times Square. Three floors are tastefully decorated with Disney themed merchandise, from old favourites like the Little Mermaid, Mickey Mouse and Peter Pan to newer additions such as Wall E, Monsters University and Brave.

Bergdorf Goodman
Fashionistas must visit the trendy department store Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue. An upscale shopping destination, you will find the likes of Prada, Jimmy Choo, Dolce and Gabbana, and Gucci in this giant shopping mecca. With eight storeys to discover, it’s a good idea to enjoy a bite to eat at the onsite restaurant before continuing your shopping journey.

Dylan’s Candy Bar
Those with a sweet tooth must take an excursion to the renowned lolly store, Dylan’s Candy Bar. Step inside a colourful candy covered world where American chocolate and sweets abound. Fans of the ingenious creations of Apple will relish a visit to the flagship store on Fifth Avenue. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, there is no rest for the technology savvy Apple staff here. The store is marked by an incredible 32 foot glass cube out front that directs customers inside to the magical world of Apple.
