Once the domain of pirates who ploughed the Caribbean Sea in search of adventure - today the Caribbean is synonymous with stunning beaches, impossibly blue waters and incredible coral reefs. There are many ways to explore this beautiful region but at the top of our list is cruising. From the comfort of a luxury liner, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the Caribbean in its complete glory.

St Thomas, US Virgin Islands

Bridgetown, Barbados
The capital of Barbados exudes a fascinating blend of colonial European traditions and Caribbean charm – the country is actually dubbed, “little England of the Caribbean.” For a glimpse into the country’s history, have a stroll around the Barbados Museum before checking out the beautiful beaches including Brighton Beach, Walkers Beach and Colony Club Beach. The adventurous will enjoy a submarine tour.

George Town, Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands and is the one most renowned for glitz and glamour. This island home to 600 offshore banks and a major focus for the international financial community. While in the vicinity, take a look at the natural formation of black volcanic rock and then head to Stingray City to frolic with these magnificent sea creatures.

Montego Bay, Jamaica
The archetypal Caribbean destination, Montego Bay in Jamaica presents picturesque palm trees, luxury resorts and luminescent waters. The most beautiful beach is Doctor’s Cave and makes the perfect spot to chill under the Caribbean sun or hire some snorkelling equipment and explore the nearby waterways. On the other hand, head to Walter Fletcher and Cornwall – other scenic beaches.

St Thomas, US Virgin Islands
If you’re taking a cruise through the Caribbean, the chances are that you’ll dock at St Thomas on the US Virgin Islands at some point during your tour. Once ashore, have a wander around the Charlotte Amalie Harbour before taking the skyride up to Paradise Point to appreciate the spectacular views over the region. Kids of all ages will love Coral World, an aquarium that’s home to marine wonders from the region.

San Juan, Puerto Rico
After docking at San Juan in Puerto Rico, stroll through the city’s historic quarter to admire the Castillo San Cristobal, the Alcadia and the San Juan Cathedral.
