Holiday of the week - The Gold Coast

3rd February 2012

Often many of us are so quick to research overseas destinations when we think about a holiday. Experiencing a new culture is exciting, different and educational. The idea of jumping on a plane to land far away is a liberating and empowering feeling. I think it is important that we don't forget the wonderful destinations this country has to offer in our own back yard.

The reason I love the Gold Coast is because it really does boast that oh so cliche line of  'something for everyone'. It is a beautiful destination with such an array of activites on offer that it truely can be tailored to be a perfect destination for families, couples and singles alike.

Being raised on the Gold Coast, my main local's tip is make sure you hire a car and explore the southern end of the coast. Burleigh Heads and Rainbow Bay must be ticked off your Gold Coast bucket list regardless of  who you are with. These tiny gorgeous towns get you away from the hustle and bustle and show you the layed back beauty of the Gold Coast at its best. In my oppinion they are also the most beautiful beaches too.
