Nha Trang Information

Nha Trang is a reasonably large coastal town of 300,000 inhabitants in Southern Vietnam and is renowned for being Vietnams most highly regarded seaside resort town. Unlike almost all large towns in Vietnam, Na Trang didn't exist as a town until 1924 when the French colonial rulers established the location as a central administrative centre for the region.

Set on a beautiful bay, it is easy to see why Na Trang is such a popular tourist destination. It has many surrounding islands, spectacular rugged mountain ranges and long beaches with fine clean sand which when combined like this, attracts the affluent traveller and backpacker alike. While the beach is easily the main attraction there are still many other interesting activities to consider, highlights include the National Oceanographic Museum of Vietnam, the Long Son Pagoda and Vin Pearl land where visitors can take a cable car from the the mainland to Vin Pearl Island.

There are many tours that are based from Na Trang for visiting tourists. Most popular are boat cruises, sailing, river kayaking, trekking, bicycle tours and of course scuba diving and snorkeling.
