Phi Phi Island Information

Amid a nation of beautiful islands, Phi Phi still manages to stand out. And there is truly no better time than now to visit Phi Phi, with its vibrant coral reefs and crystal-clear waters at their most undisturbed since island habitation.

Located just 45 minutes from Phuket, Phi Phi comprises two main islands, Phi Phi Lee and it's big brother Phi Phi Don, the latter being the larger and more developed of the two. In fact, Phi Phi Lee (all six square kilometres of it!) has no permanent residents but does accommodate day-trippers keen to see the breathtaking setting of the 2000 hit film The Beach.

Phi Phi Don has a sweeping white sand and palm lined beach which extends between mountain masses which shelter the calm waters. There are beachside bungalows or chalet available here and at other smaller beaches around the island.

When you need a break from relaxing on the silky soft sands, there are some bars with live music, restaurants, cabarets, souvenir shops, dive centres and also the opportunity for day trips and excursions, including kayaking and climbing trips. Hire a longtail boat and take your time exploring the hidden beaches and treasure coves on neighbouring islands. Snorkelling and diving enthusiasts are truly spoilt for choice within the waters around these beautiful islands.
