Ko Samui Information

You'll find the island of Ko Samui just off the eastern shore of the Thai peninsular and at around 250 square kilometres it is Thailand's third largest island.

Ko Samui is a relative new-comer to the international holiday scene only really being 'discovered' as a holiday destination in the early 80s. Before that the island was relatively isolated and kept to itself without even a road to be found.

Nowadays it is one of Thailand's most popular destinations for seekers of sun, sand and nightlife as well as those wanting to enjoy some beautiful tropical-island scenery. There are activities to be found for every holiday maker whether you want to explore every corner of the island or simply laze away the days on a beach to the tunes of the tropical breezes soughing through the palm trees. There are some beautiful reefs in Ko Samui which are ideal for snorkelling or scuba diving. Take a hike up into the jungle mountains of the interior or enjoy an off-road safari if your legs aren't up to hiking. For those wanting to 'catch some rays' there are several beaches that should not be missed such as Hat Bang Rak, Hat Maenam, and Hat Chaweng, but you'll find just about anywhere with sand will be perfect.

If the shopping bug bites there is some great shopping close by Hat Chaweng beach and when the sun goes down there are ample opportunities to experience Ko Samui nightlife. Popular with travellers of all ages there is always something to keep everyone happy on the beautiful Ko Samui.
