Ko Pha Ngan‎ Information

Sister island to Koh Samui in the south and Koh Tao in the north, Koh Pha Ngan sits tranquilly in the Gulf of Thailand. A more relaxing escape than Koh Samui or Phuket, Koh Pha Ngan is certainly becoming much more developed and is already famous for its full moon party, when thousands of party goers flood the beach of Haad Rin for a huge celebration on the night of the full moon each month.

The island boasts a vibrant underwater world, with luminescent coral reefs and abundant marine life. One of the best places for snorkelling is Mae Haad Bay on the north-west tip of the island. Take a trip to Ang Thong National Marine Park or famous Sail Rock for deeper dives. Other watersports include sailing, kayaking, paragliding, windsurfing, wakeboarding and kitesurfing.

The island is also a great place for walking, particularly the wild eastern coastline and pristine jungle interior. Take the winding trail to Khao Ra, the highest point on the island, or visit Phaeng Waterfall for a dazzling view over the south and west of the island.

There are also plenty of opportunities to learn ancient Thai traditions: take a Thai massage course, learn the secrets of fabulous Thai cuisine or get fit on a Muay Thai course. 'The Sanctuary' at Haad Thian beach offers sessions such as meditation, Reiki, astrology, belly dancing and Tai Chi.
