Ao Nang Information

Located on the Andaman Sea, Ao Nang is is around 20 kilometres from Krabi on the west coast of the Thai Peninsula.

Originally a fishing settlement Ao Nang has today become a resort town owing to it's long stretches of ideallic beach and the beautiful waters that front it. Visitors can spend their days exploring the coast by kayak,trek through lush jungle that team with birdlife or just sit back and relax by the sea. Some of the beaches close to Ao Nang may only be reached on foot and visitors may find themselves with some rare solitude in the ideallic coves of the area. Be sure check out the beaches of Tham Phra Nang and Nam Mao.

The area is well equipped for tourists and it's easy to hire some snorkelling gear or find a tour to the local islands. Tour companies are also plentiful and a trip to explore nearby islands is definitely worth considering, especially for divers. There are over 80 islands nearby to Ao Nang's large bay. Check out Ko Poda, Ko Thap and Ko Mo for some lovely reefs and lonely beaches. If relaxing is the thing then head to the south end of Ao Nang for an exquisite beach massage.
