Visa & Entry Requirements

Nationals of many countries do not require a visa to visit French Polynesia for a period of up to 3 months. This includes Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the US among others. Members of the European Union and the European Economic Area do not require a visa even for stays of longer than 90 days. You may be required to show immigration officials that you have return or onward tickets and adequate means of support and accommodation upon entering French Polynesia.

Citizens of other nationalities must request a short stay visa from the French Consulate or Embassy, or the "Prefecture" (in French Administrations) in their country of residence.

There is no departure tax for French Polynesia.

As entry requirements may change from time to time it is strongly advised that you check with the department of foreign affairs or your local consulate or embassy for the current requirements.
