Visa & Entry Requirements

Visitors travelling to Samoa may enter the country for 60 days or less without a visa. Travellers are issued with a 60 day visitor permit upon arrival provided certain conditions are met.

Travellers must have a valid passport with at least six months validity after the intended date of departure and also be in possession of an onward or return ticket and any required visas for the country they will be travelling to next. Proof of accommodation and sufficient funds for period of stay may also be required. Persons wishing to extend their stay beyond the sixty days covered by a Visitor Permit must apply for an extension to the permit. All applications must be made at the Immigration office in Apia, Samoa before the Visitor Permit expires. Visits of mores than 60 days require an entry permit which may be obtained from a Samoa Consulate General, High Commission or Embassy.

A departure tax of ST$40 is payable for all travellers leaving Samoa unless under 12 years of age.
