Paris Information
Paris, arguably the most famous city on earth, is the capital of France and is located on the river Seine in the central north of the country. It is one of the largest cities in Europe with over ten million people residing in the greater metropolis area. The city is often called “The city of light” and is the most visited tourism destination in the world.
As a tourism destination it is almost impossible to overstate the appeal of Paris. It has a dizzying number of attractions that are household names; Notre Dame, The Eiffel Tower, The Arche de Triomphe, the Champs-Élysées, The Louvre and the Moulin Rouge are just a few that roll off the tongue. As bewitching as these attractions are, they barely begin to scratch the surface of what makes this city so special and so renowned.
Paris has a feel to it like no other city on earth, it is a centre of style, culture, food and art. Even the most commonly encountered brasserie seems stylish and exotic. Getting around the city by foot is easy and is a great way to soak up the atmosphere and explore the many hidden gems that can be found in the alleyways and arcades. Boutique galleries, enchanting cafe’s and bakeries and specialty food stores abound and are a delight to browse.
