Weather & Climate

France has a diverse climate. Overall, most of the country, including Paris, enjoys temperate winters and mild summers. In the south and along the Mediterranean, you can expect mild winters with high rainfall and hot summers. Mild winters with high rainfall and cool summers in the north west (Brittany) , and cool to cold winters and hot summers along the German border (Alsace). Along the Rhone valley, an occasional strong, cold, dry, north-to-north-westerly wind known as the mistral is most commonly experienced winter and spring .
