There are no vaccinations certificates required for entry to Fiji however typhoid vaccine is recommended.

Visitors are allowed to bring their own special medication needed. The country is free from Malaria, yellow fever and major tropical diseases tropical countries undergo. People who have had contact with yellow fever should be vaccinated if traveling to Fiji within ten days. Dengue fever is active during November to April.

Hospitals are on major islands and hotels and resorts have a nurse on premises and a doctor on call.

Visitors should stay away from rallies and large gatherings of people. The crime rate is high so people should not carry large amounts of cash on them and not wear expensive jewelry. Pickpockets occur at bus stops and taxi ranks. Women should not be alone at night, especially in the rural areas.

There is possibility of shark attacks in the ocean. Also reckless driving is common and animals are at risk on the road.

In case of an emergency police number is 917, and fire and ambulance is 911. The main hospital is located in Suva.
