HIGHLIGHTS: Tanzania, Kenya.

From the island paradise of Zanzibar to the wildlife of Serengeti National Park explore two of Africa's most vibrant countries!

DAY 1 Nairobi, Kenya to Maasai Mara. As Lion King fans will tell you, the Swahili phrase “hakuna matata” means ‘no worries’, and is an appropriate send-off as our trip departs from Kenya’s capital Nairobi. We head across the Great Rift Valley, a huge trench in the Earth’s surface caused by tectonic plates pulling apart, as we make for one of Africa’s most famous game reserves, the Maasai Mara.

We camp on the reserve’s edge for two nights, heading in for morning and afternoon game drives in search of lion, antelope, elephant, cheetah and many more. Between July and October, we may be lucky enough to witness the immense annual migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebra. From the ‘Mara’ we return briefly to Nairobi.

This is Africa’s largest intact caldera and the view from crater rim to crater floor, 700m below, is staggering. We then return to Arusha for a night.
