Day 1 Auckland to Paihia, Bay of Islands
We start our trip together in Auckland, the jewel of the North Island, heading north around the picturesque harbour. First stop is Parry's Kauri Park to visit an impressive example of a Kauri tree. Then it's on to the seaside town of Paihia, nestled amongst the breathtaking Bay of Islands - a beautiful locale of 144 islands with quiet bays and plenty of marine life. Once we've sorted our accommodation, relax by the pool or grab a meal in town. Optional Upgrade to 'Rock the Boat' Overnight.
Day 2 Paihia, Bay of Islands
You've got a free day to explore some of what the Bay of Islands has to offer And trust us when we say there's a wealth of optional activities. Drive along 90 Mile Beach all the way to Cape Reinga, where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific and try boarding down the towering sand dunes is a great rush Cruise around the inner Bay aboard a catamaran and spot some dolphins, or just paddle through the mangroves to Haruru Falls by kayak. You may wish to learn a little of the region's history with a visit to Russell (NZ's oldest settlement) or the Waitangi Treaty House. Maybe you'd just like to get back to nature with a hike to Haruru Falls through the gorgeous natural landscape. We'll regroup for dinner and share the day's experiences.
Day 3 Bay of Islands to Auckland
Our travel direction turns southwards, and we visit the stunning Whangarei Falls if the weather's on our side. From here, it's a short hop back to Auckland, the City of Sails, where our quick jaunt together comes to a close. read more

Day 1 - Munich, Germany
Arrive at Camping Thalkirchen between 8am and 10pm today for check-in. A Topdeck representative will be on site to answer any questions you may have about the festival. This afternoon and evening we will be running frequents shuttles between the beer halls and campsite - check out the timetable at the campsite or ask a Topdeck representative for more information! Or alternatively, why not head into Munich city centre by train to see the Old Town Hall, Church of our Lady and the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz.

Day 2 - 3 Munich Germany
After a delicious fully cooked breakfast it's time to enjoy the world's BIGGEST public festival! Take the chance of a few steins, a couple of schnapps, or maybe even enjoy one of the rides at the fairground. For those of you who wish to head into the beer halls why not visit those halls that you missed yesterday and sample the local delicacy of a roasted pork knuckle with your stein. For those wishing to rest the liver the atmosphere around the festival is second to none and there is plenty to see and do... why not jump on one of the many carnival rides or head into the city for some sightseeing!

Day 4 Munich, Germany
After a fully cooked breakfast this morning, it's time to say goodbye to new friends and continue on with our travels as your trip finishes today after breakfast. Day 1 Adelaide to Grampians National Park
After crossing the famed Murray River we head into the state of Victoria and make our way to the Grampians. This afternoon we will go for a fabulous hike out to the stunning Mckenzie Falls. Tonight we enjoy a traditional Aussie BBQ dinner.

Day 2 Grampians National Park to Port Campbell (via Great Ocean Road)
This morning we will pay a visit to Brambuk Aboriginal Culture Centre to learn about the Dreamtime. We also get to paint our own souvenir boomerang here – so good, you’ll want to keep coming back! Leaving the Grampians National Park we hit the famous Great Ocean Road, where we'll take time to explore several natural landscapes including The Arch, London Bridge and the Bay of Martyrs; these are sure to be a great addition to the photo albums. We then make our way to Port Campbell and an included dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 3 Port Campbell to Melbourne
We depart today for cosmopolitan Melbourne continuing along one of the world’s great drives - the Great Ocean Road. We see the amazing Twelve Apostles rock formation and Loch Ard Gorge. Later we pass legendary surf spots and stop at Otway Tree Top Walk for a bird’s eye view of Victoria’s natural beauty. DAY 1 Melbourne to Port Campbell (via Great Ocean Road)
From Melbourne we head west for one of the world’s great drives – the Great Ocean Road. We stop in the coastal town of Lorne and also Kennett River to look for wild koalas, then this afternoon we take the Otway Tree Top Walk to see Victoria’s natural beauty from on high. Then it’s time for the majestic Twelve Apostles rock formation and Loch Ard Gorge. We finish up in Port Campbell.

DAY 2 Port Campbell to Grampians National Park
Before leaving the scenic Great Ocean Road we check out natural landscapes including the Arch, London Bridge and the Bay of Martyrs – brilliant photos to be had! Then we travel to the spectacular Grampians National Park, where we visit Brambuk Aboriginal Culture Centre to learn about the Dreamtime and paint our own souvenir boomerang! DAY 3 Grampians National Park to Adelaide

Day 1 Pamplona
Topdeck's campsite is located in Lerate, southwest of Pamplona and is situated on a lake side with excellent facilities including a bar, supermarket and swimming pool! Topdeck shuttles will be running pick-ups from the local bus station in Lorca to take you straight to our campsite. Check in today with our Topdeck Crew who will be able to give you information about the festival and the next few days, including information about the opening ceremony tomorrow and the bull runs starting on Saturday. This afternoon why not take a swim in the lake, or grab a sangria and take in the beautiful scenery!

Day 2 Pamplona "San Fermin" Opening Ceremony
This morning we head into town to get a good position for the opening ceremony. At midday a rocket is fired from the balcony of the Town Hall which signals the start of the San Fermin festivities. The party continues all day, with cava, sangria, flour and eggs filling the streets of Pamplona. Topdeck free regular shuttles provide transport for you both in and out of Pamplona.

Day 3 Pamplona
Today is the first "Running of the Bulls", which takes place at 8am each day of the San Fermin festivities. Following the run there is entertainment all over the town, from street parties to bull fights. This afternoon why not relax at the optional Topdeck Sangria BBQ - indulge in food and sangria before heading back into Pamplona for an evening in town partying with the Spanish.

Day 4 San Sebastian Day Trip
Another opportunity to "Run with the Bulls" this morning - or for the non-runners, why not just soak up the amazing atmosphere that fills the streets! Afterwards we'll head straight to San Sebastian with its sandy beaches, old town and chilled out atmosphere! This evening you can head back to the campsite, or choose to party in Pamplona with a late night shuttle return from town.

Day 5 Pamplona
This morning is your final opportunity to check out a bull run in town, before we head back to camp for our full cooked breakfast. It's then time to say goodbye to new friends and continue on with our travels as your trip finishes today after breakfast. read more

La Tomatina, 4 Days from $399*

HIGHLIGHTS: Valencia, Bunol

Day 1 Valencia
Our trip begins today in the Spanish city of Valencia. We meet our Trip Leader this afternoon for a welcome meeting to find out more details about the festival. Tonight is our first chance to sample Valencia's fantastic nightlife!

Day 2 Valencia
We begin with a walking tour of the Old Quarter of Valencia. Afterwards an optional bike ride can give us a different perspective of the city, otherwise we have free time to explore. This evening why not spend your free time sampling the delicious local Spanish cuisine and maybe a glass or two of sangria!

Day 3 Bunol
An early start this morning as we board our coaches to Bunol for the world's biggest food fight - La Tomatina! The tomato throwing insanity lasts for one unforgettable hour, before we head back to Valencia for a shower and a well-earned siesta. Tonight we enjoy our farewell party - it's the perfect way to toast our memories of La Tomatina.

Venice Carnival, 4 Days from $429*

HIGHLIGHTS: Venice

Day 1 Venice, Italy
Benvenuti in Italia! Welcome to Italy! Our trip begins today in the glorious Italian city of Venice. We meet at our accommodation across the lagoon from Venice's main islands, where we'll hear more details from our Trip Leader during a welcome meeting. We then spend the evening getting to know our fellow travellers and getting into the spirit of Venice Carnival.

Day 2 Venice
After breakfast we travel to the truly unique city of Venice. Built on an archipelago of small islands, Venice is a network of canals, bridges, squares and narrow passageways. Our included walking tour with our Topdeck Trip Leader is the best way to appreciate sights such as St Mark's Square, the Accademia, Doge's Palace and stunning St Mark's Basilica. If you want to see Venice from the water, then an optional gondola ride could see you gliding along the canals and under bridges at the hands of your very own gondolier - you'll even get to see the famous Rialto Bridge from the waters of the Grand Canal, Venice's main 'street'. This afternoon is ours to explore the festive atmosphere of Venice during Carnival, and perhaps find our own Venetian mask to wear!

Day 3 Venice
Today is the biggest day of the Carnival, with street and canal parades showcasing the amazing costumes. The squares of Venice will be overflowing with live entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy. For those who wish to see more that Venice has to offer, who not catch a vaporetto to one of Venice's outer islands? Each has its own unique character and style, like Burano, famous for its colourful houses and lace-making, Murano, known for its beautiful glass, or Lido, famous for its sandy beach front. Tonight is our last chance to toast the memories of the past few days at Carnival!

Day 4 Venice

Day 1 London to Munich
Departing from London this afternoon we drive through the beautiful English country side, making our way to Dover for our cross channel ferry to Calais, France. On clearing customs and immigration we travel across northern France, crossing the German border near the Netherlands, towards our destination of Munich! Pleasekeep in mind that this is an overnight journey so we recommend that you prepare accordingly - pillows and blankets are a good idea!

Day 2 Munich - Opening Ceremony
Arriving early this morning, it's time to enjoy our full cooked breakfast at the campsite. After checking into our spacious pre-erected tents (with air mattresses supplied) you will get back on the coach and head in to the beer halls, ready for the opening ceremony festivities! Now it's time to enjoy the world's BIGGEST public festival. Take the chance of a few steins, a couple of schnapps, or maybe even enjoy one of the rides at the fairground. It's certainly an experience you will not want to forget!

Day 3 Munich
After your fully cooked breakfast this morning the day is yours to do as you please! This morning after your full cooked breakfast, we load the coach and head into Munich city centre for our included walking tour of this gorgeous German city. See the Old Town Hall, Church of our Lady and the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz. After the walking tour the morning is yours to do as you please! For those of you who wish to head into the beer halls it is a short train ride away from the city centre. Or if you are all Oktoberfest-ed out, why not stay in town and explore what else Munich has to offer? We leave Munich this afternoon to head back to Calais on our overnight drive.

Day 5 Arrive London
After catching our early morning ferry from Calais to Dover we arrive back in London mid-morning, and say goodbye to our new travel mates. Amsterdam Easter, 4 Days from $495*

Day 1 London, England to Amsterdam, Netherlands
Let's go Dutch! After an early departure from London, we head to Dover and catch our ferry to continental Europe, then drive north to Amsterdam. On arrival we'll check into our central hostel before getting an introduction to this hip city. Our walking tour takes in the infamous Red Light District, and then we can always sample some of Amsterdam's diverse night life!

Day 2 Amsterdam
Today is free to explore Amsterdam and take in its abundant culture. World class attractions such as Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum are well worth visiting (it's advisable to book tickets online ahead of time). Otherwise we can check out the canals or simply wander the streets of this beautiful city. This evening why not join our optional pub crawl through the Red Light District?

Day 3 Amsterdam (Keukenhof day trip)
Today we can head on an included day trip to the Keukenhof flower fields, where over 6 million tulips are planted in colourful floral displays. Tonight is our last chance to hit up Amsterdam's famous party scene.

Day 4 Amsterdam to London
Before leaving Amsterdam we make a quick visit to a traditional Dutch farm to see how both Dutch cheese and clogs are made! We then drive to catch our return ferry, arriving in London this evening where we say our goodbyes. read more

Kakadu & Litchfield, 3 Days from $545*

HIGHLIGHTS: Darwin - Mary River - Kakadu

Day 1 Darwin to Mary River (Litchfield National Park)
We depart from Darwin and head to the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park (with chance for a refreshing swim). After lunch we relocate to the spectacular Mary River Wetlands - perhaps enjoy a spot of crocodile watching on a river cruise We overnight in the Mary River region.
Day 2 Mary River to Kakadu
Arriving in Kakadu, we take time to explore ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr before we climb to a lookout for views over the Nardab floodplain. Next we head to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) where a hike is rewarded with a reviving dip in the plunge pools. You'll be asleep in no time once we reach our overnight bush camp in Kakadu.
Day 3 Kakadu to Darwin
An early rise for our 4WD trip to majestic Jim Jim Falls, where we'll hike to the falls' base. In the afternoon we stop at Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about local Indigenous culture. The impressive scenery continues on our journey back to Darwin, where our trip finishes on arrival. read more

Brugge Easter, 4 Days from $549*

Day 1 London, England to Brugge, Belgium
An early start today as we head to Dover and catch a ferry to continental Europe. After driving to Brugge and checking in to our central hotel, we take a walking tour of this picturesque medieval town. Tonight we enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant, before our first chance to hit the town.

Day 2 Brugge
This morning why not sample the Belgian way of life on our optional bike tour? Alternatively the morning is ours to wander the medieval streets, relax in a cafe in Market Square or load up on delicious Belgian chocolates - they're everywhere! This afternoon we head to a family-run brewery in the centre of Brugge, where we'll learn about how exquisite Belgian beer is made... and have a sample, of course!

Day 3 Brugge (Brussels day trip)
Today we visit Brussels, Belgium's capital, for an orientation tour and free time to explore. Seafood fans will love the city's famous fish cafes, and there are plenty of places to work through more of Belgium's beers - there are hundreds! We return to Brugge this afternoon for our final night.

Day 4 Brugge to London
We depart Brugge today, driving to catch our return ferry to Dover. Upon arrival in London this evening it'll be time to say fond farewells to our Topdeck Trip Leader and travel buddies. read more

Western Front Easter, 4 Days from $549*

HIGHLIGHTS: London, Lille, Amiens

Day 1 London to Lille (via Ypres)
Depart with us early this morning from London as we cross the English Channel to the battlefields and memorials of Ypres, a town that during the war was almost constantly under bombardment, and was reduced to ruins. After visiting such sites as Langemark German Cemetery, Passendale, and Tyne Cot Cemetery and Memorial to the Missing, we will head to our Lille hotel for the evening.

Day 2 Lille to Amiens
Today we visit the surrounding areas of Ypres, and see where some of the most dreadful fighting of World War One occurred. During the day we will visit significant Australian and New Zealand sites, including Polygon Wood and Butes Cemetery, Hill 60, Ploegsteert Wood, Fromelles and Pheasant Wood. This evening we continue to Amiens, the capital of the Somme.

Day 3 Somme Battlefields Tour
Today we explore the Somme region, where during our battlefields tour we will visit the preserved trench lines at Beaumont Hamel; the Thiepval Memorial and Museum; the battlefields of Pozieres; and the battlefields and memorial sites of Longueval.

Day 4 Amiens to London
Today we visit the Australian National War Memorial just outside the town of Villers-Bretonneux, where each year on ANZAC Day commemorations are held to remember the lives lost during World War One. This afternoon we head to Calais and catch our ferry back to England, where the trip finishes this evening at the Clink hostel, and we say our fond farewells to our Topdeck companions!. read more

Day 1 London to Edinburgh
An early start today as we drive up through the beautiful English country side towards Scotland's historic capital, Edinburgh. On reaching Edinburgh we have time to check into our centrally located, 5 star hostel before our first night to enjoy the city's vibrant nightlife and get to know our fellow travellers.

Day 2 Edinburgh
This morning is our half day sightseeing tour of Edinburgh with a local Scottish Blue Badge guide. Afterwards there is free time to visit some of these sights you have viewed or you might even want to visit some of the performances of the famous Fringe Festival. Tonight we make our way to Edinburgh Castle for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo performance, a world famous spectacle culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

Day 3 Edinburgh
Today is a free day for you to explore more of Edinburgh, or perhaps join our optional half day trip to the breathtaking Stirling Castle. Tonight is our last chance to sample the vibrant nightlife of Edinburgh - why not join our optional pub crawl this evening for our final night together?

Day 4 Edinburgh to London
All good things must come to an end, and so must our trip. Heading south we return to London, where our trip finishes in the early evening, and we say our fond farewells to our Topdeck crew and travelling companions! read more

Day 1 London to Paris
An early start today as we head toward Dover for our ferry to Europe. After dinner near our Paris hotel, we head off for our night lights driving tour of Paris, where we will pass some of the many famous sights including the Place de la Concorde, Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe and, of course, the Eiffel Tower.

Day 2 Paris
Today you have free time to explore the sights of Paris. Maybe cruise the streets on our optional sightseeing bike tour, wander amongst the artists in Montmartre, flex the credit cards on the Champs Elysees or people watch from a sidewalk cafe. This afternoon we jump on board for our included Seine River cruise to get a unique view of this beautiful city. Tonight there is the chance to see a traditional French Cabaret show or to sample the night life in this beautiful city.

Day 3 Paris to Champagne Region (Reims)
This morning we head to our next destination, nestled in the heart of the Champagne region. Reims is an old Roman city that is famed for producing the 'king of wines' and is also noted for its superb Gothic architecture. This afternoon it's on to our included tour and Champagne tasting at the Mumm Champagne House! There will be plenty of time to indulge in the local produce this evening as we head out for our last night in France.

Day 4 Reims to London

Day 2 Gold Coast to Byron Bay
Today it’s a short hop into New South Wales and we make our way to Byron Bay, the easternmost point on the mainland. World renowned for its superb beaches and eclectic lifestyle, it’s a resort town so good some visitors have never left!

Day 3 Byron Bay
What to do with our full day in Byron? An optional activity such as sea kayaking, diving, or skydiving perhaps? Maybe you’d prefer to experience the arts and crafts of the local area, or take a walk to Cape Byron? Then again, the beach could be calling your name for another day's surfing... Choices, choices!

Day 4 Byron Bay to Crescent Head
Heading down the coast, we check out Coffs Harbour and the “Big Banana”, before reaching the pristine beaches of the Central Coast. Enjoy our included surfing lesson and "hang 10" in the shimmering Pacific Ocean.

Day 5 Crescent Head to Sydney
After a morning of more surfing, we continue south Kempsey (home of the “Akubra” hat) to one of the world’s great cities: Sydney, where our Aussie adventure reaches its finale. read more

Day 1 Marrakech
We depart Marrakech this morning and transfer to Barrage Amezmiz near the high Atlas chain. We visit the souk of Lala Takerkoust and meet local mule drivers, then start walking in the small hills, crossing farms and tiny fields of corn and maize before arriving at our Berber house.

Day 2 Ait Zitoun - Tizgui - Ait Ahmed
We start walking in the Atlas foothills, passing the forested area of Tizgui village (an impressive altitude of1600m) and enjoying amazing views of the Haouz plain. This afternoon we travel along mule tracks through a small pine forest to reach Ait Ahmed village.

Day 3 Ait Ahmed - Imin 'Tala
On to Imin'Tala, overhanging Amezmiz River. Here we'll find earth and stone villages, terraces and irrigation channels which have been built in harmony with the environment.

Day 4 Imin 'Tala - Azgour - Marrakech
Crossing a pass at 1800m we come to Jbel Allaghine, via a small forest path with spectacular views of the snowy High Atlas summits. We descend to Tnirt village, then after a small climb we reach Lamdinate Valley. Here we meet our local transport in Azgour village and return to Marrakech. Tonight we stay in a traditional Riad, a Moroccan house with an interior garden.

Day 5 Marrakech

Today is the first "Running of the Bulls", which takes place at 8am each day of the San Fermin festivities. Following the run there is entertainment all over the town, from street parties to bull fights. This afternoon why not relax at the optional Topdeck Sangria BBQ - indulge in food and sangria before heading back into Pamplona for an evening in town partying with the Spanish.

Day 4 Pamplona
Another opportunity to "Run with the Bulls" this morning - or for the non-runners, why not just soak up the amazing atmosphere that fills the streets! Afterwards, if you fancy some respite to recharge your batteries before the revelry continues tonight, you can always relax on the lake back at the campsite. This evening you can stay out in town and get a late night shuttle back to the campsite.

Day 5 San Sebastian
This morning is your final opportunity to check out a bull run in town, before we head back to camp for our full cooked breakfast. After breakfast we depart to the coastal city of San Sebastian and check in to our city centre hostel situated in the heart of the old town. Join our Trip Leader on a Walking Tour of this beautiful city situated right on the beach!

Day 6 San Sebastian
Try surfing or just chill on the beach, later today why not check out some of the boutique shopping on offer or wonder up to see the fantastic views near the Statue of Christ on the mountain in between the cities to great beaches. Tonight we meet for our included group dinner.

Day 3 Strahan to Launceston (via Cradle Mountain)
Today we journey to breathtaking Cradle Mountain National Park. It's not far then to Sheffield, "the town of murals", before we head to historic Launceston.
Day 4 Launceston to Bicheno
We start today by visiting Cataract Gorge in the heart of Launceston - perhaps take a dip in the outdoor pool Then it's off to the east coast and the Bay of Fires - think spectacular red rocks and blue waters - before a scenic coastal drive south to Bicheno. This evening we can take an optional guided walk to see the local penguins as they come ashore (seasonal).
Day 5 Bicheno to Hobart (via Freycinet National Park)
We're up early for Wineglass Bay with its secluded beaches and hiking tracks up Mt Amos. In the afternoon we travel to the historic village of Ross where we can sample some of the bakery's delicacies (highly recommended) or see the town's bridge (built by convicts). There's still time for a quick stop at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where we'll meet (and feed) some Tasmanian Devils Tonight after an included dinner, why not hit the town in Hobart.
Day 6 Hobart (Port Arthur day trip)
After visiting the colonial village of Richmond, we head to Port Arthur, a former penal colony and World Heritage site known for its significant place in Australia's history. To the small town of Haro in the Rioja wine region. We're here to join in the annual Haro Wine Festival, which is highlighted by the awesome Batalla Del Vino (wine battle). After a tasty BBQ at our campsite, we can party into the night with the locals in preparation for the battle tomorrow.

Day 3 Haro
An early start for the Batalla Del Vino itself! Dress in whites and choose your 'weapon' (bucket, water pistol, bottle...), before dousing each other in copious amounts of red wine. This is largely a tourist-free festival, so we'll be drenching the locals as they reply in kind. Afterwards it's back to camp for breakfast, showers and perhaps a siesta. The rest of the day is free - why not take an optional visit to a local Rioja vineyard?

Day 4 Haro to Madrid
To Spain's majestic capital, Madrid. Upon arrival we have a driving tour of the city taking in the Prado Museum, Gran Via and the Plaza de Espana amongst other landmarks. Later we enjoy an included dinner, after which we can perhaps sample Madrid's nightlife - our centrally located hostel is the ideal base.

Day 5 Madrid
A free day in Madrid! Maybe visit the Prado Museum or the Reina Sofia Museum (home to Pablo Picasso's famous Guernica painting). Alternatively you could check out the Santiago Bernabeu stadium (home to Real Madrid FC) or the 25,000 capacity Las Ventas Bullring. We won't be short of great restaurants to choose from tonight.

Day 6 Madrid to San Sebastian via Segovia
To Segovia, one of Europe's most spectacular Renaissance cities. Highlights include the impressive Roman Aqueduct you and towering Segovia Cathedral. After lunch, it's on to coastal San Sebastian in the north of Spain.

Day 7 San Sebastian
A walking tour this morning takes in the city's main sights. San Sebastian is also home to Europe's finest city beaches and some of Spain's best surf conditions - this afternoon we can even take an optional surf lesson!

Day 8 San Sebastian
Our free day gives us time to relax on San Sebastian's beaches (Zuriola, La Concha and Ondaretta), and soak up the Spanish sun. If shopping is your vice, then the designer shops in town are sure to tempt you. Make sure you sample the local cuisine too - some of Spain's finest seafood and pintxos (tapas) dishes have been perfected here!

Day 9 San Sebastian to Pamplona
A drive day to Pamplona, where upon arrival we set up our tents at our lakeside campsite. Enjoy the pool and admire the scenery as we prepare for the festivities of tomorrow.

The opening ceremony of San Fermin Festival is a sight to behold! A huge street party sees us mix with the locals, all dressed in white with red sashes and scarves. The sangria flows freely and the town of Pamplona comes alive - an amazing atmosphere and an unforgettable day!

Day 11 Pamplona
An early start as we head in to Pamplona for the initial bull runs through the streets. We return to camp for breakfast and time to relax - a siesta is a great idea. This evening we head into town to enjoy the incredible fireworks display, and perhaps another almighty party.

Day 9 Fraser Island
A full day visit to the world’s largest sand island, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Fraser Island! We take a 4-wheel drive tour and guided rainforest walk followed by an Aussie BBQ lunch on the banks of stunning Lake McKenzie.

Day 10 Noosa to Brisbane

Dau 2 Kings Canyon to Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Up early today as we make our way to the ultimate icon of Australia - Uluru. After lunch at our campground, we get up close and personal with the Rock as we walk a section of the base. We then get an insight into the local Aboriginal culture from our guide before an unforgettable desert sunset over Uluru. After dark, we fire up the BBQ for dinner before retiring to our cosy swags.
Day 3 Uluru (Ayers Rock) to Alice Springs
We wake to witness a magical Uluru sunrise, then visit the Uluru Cultural Centre to further our insight into the amazing Anangu way of life. After seeing the ancient geological formation of Kata Tjuta, we explore its magnificent features during a 'Valley of the Winds' hike. After lunch we journey back to Alice Springs.
Day 4 Alice Springs
Today is at leisure in 'Alice' There's plenty to see and do in the heart of Australia's 'Red Centre'.
Day 5 Alice Springs to Banka Banka
Leaving Alice behind, we pass the Tropic of Capricorn and stop at the Barrow Creek Pub, home to a telegraph station, where we can glimpse what outback telecommunication used to be like. Precariously balanced on their rocky perch are Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles), a site sacred to its traditional owners. Last stop for today is our private campsite at Banka Banka Station.
Day 6 Banka Banka to Katherine Gorge
No visit to the Top End would be complete without a stop at the famed Daly Waters Pub, a classic outback roadhouse loved by travellers from around the globe Later we stop at Mataranka in the heart of the 'never-never' where we can soak in the steamy thermal springs. As the day draws to a close, we reach our overnight camp near stunning Katherine Gorge.
Day 7 Katherine Gorge to Darwin
We have a half day to explore Katherine Gorge - optional canoe or cruise trips in the spectacular waters are available in season. After stopping at idyllic Edith Falls we head to Darwin.
Day 8 Darwin to Mary River (Litchfield National Park)
We begin by checking out the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park with chance for a refreshing swim. After lunch we relocate to the spectacular Mary River Wetlands. Birds aren't the only abundant wildlife here - enjoy a spot of crocodile watching on a river cruise We overnight at our bush campsite in the Mary River region.
Day 9 Mary River to Kakadu
Arriving in Kakadu, we take time to explore the surrounds of this remarkable World Heritage area. Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr before we climb to the top of a lookout for beautiful views over the Nardab floodplain. Next we head to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) where a hike is rewarded with a reviving dip in the plunge pools. You'll be asleep in no time once we reach our overnight bush camp in Kakadu.
Day 10 Kakadu to Darwin
An early rise sees us jump in 4-wheel drive vehicles and make our way to majestic Jim Jim Falls We'll hike to the falls' base, before continuing on to Twin Falls. You might want to take in the beauty of the gorge and falls from the National Park-operated Boat and Boardwalk experience. In the afternoon we stop at Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre to learn about local Indigenous culture. The impressive scenery will continue to amaze as we journey back to Darwin, where our memorable trip ends. read more

Day 5 Queen Elizabeth NP to Lake Bunyonyi
Today we can track chimpanzees in their natural habitat at Kyambura Gorge, an amazing optional experience. Their structured social groups are quite different to the gentle gorillas we see later in the trip.

Day 6-9 Gorilla Trek to Kampala
Local guides can lead us through the jungle on an optional trek to see a family of gorillas in the wild, one of Africa's most magical experiences. We have a one hour 'audience' with these endangered gentle giants, and you may be surprised at how close you can get and how human-like they are, particularly in the play activity of the younger gorillas. We spend several days here to allow everyone to complete the demanding and memorable trek. We then return to Kampala.

Day 10 Kampala to Jinja
Onwards to Jinja where our camp overlooks white-water rapids.

Day 11-12 Jinja
Two full days in Jinja to relax or assist a local charity in building schools. Optional activities include quad-biking, rafting and bungee jumping.

Day 5 Melbourne to Port Campbell (via Great Ocean Road)
Today we enjoy one of the world's great drives - the Great Ocean Road. We pass legendary surf spots and stop at the Otway Tree Top Walk for a bird's eye view of beautiful Victoria. Later, we see the amazing Twelve Apostles rock formation and Loch Ard Gorge.
Day 6 Port Campbell to Grampians National Park (via Great Ocean Road)
After seeing more natural wonders along the Great Ocean Road, it's on to Grampians National Park. We visit Brambuk Aboriginal Culture Centre to learn about the Dreamtime and paint our own souvenir boomerang Tonight we enjoy an Aussie BBQ.
Day 7 Grampians National Park to Adelaide
We start today with a hike to the base of eye-catching MacKenzie Falls, then drive to South Australia's capital Adelaide. Adelaide - vineyards and beaches are both within reach.
Day 9 Adelaide to Parachilna (via Flinders Ranges)
We travel through famous wine region Clare Valley towards the Flinders Ranges, stopping at a local winery en-route to sample the produce.
Day 10 Parachilna to Quorn (via Flinders Ranges National Park)
Today we explore all the highlights of the Flinders Ranges, including Stokes Hill Lookout and the natural amphitheatre of Wilpena Pound. Tonight we enjoy a pub meal and drinks with the locals in historic Quorn.

Day 13 Byron Bay to Crescent Head
Heading down the coast, we check out Coffs Harbour and the “Big Banana”, before reaching the pristine beaches of the Central Coast. Enjoy our included surfing lesson and "hang 10" in the shimmering Pacific Ocean.

A day to explore Rotorua. Maybe hire a mountain bike, go white-water rafting, visit the thermal spa pools or splash out a massage.
Day 5 Rotorua to Tongariro National Park
First up is a guided tour of Whakarewarewa Village and Thermal Reserve. Later we visit Huka Falls, Lake Taupo, and the Taupo bungy over the Waikato River (jump optional). We then head to our alpine retreat in volcanic Tongariro National Park. Tonight we enjoy a lamb roast.
Day 6 Tongariro National Park
Hike the trails, hire a mountain bike or even ski (during winter) on our free day in Tongariro. Later we can relax in the sauna or spa pool at our accommodation.
Day 7 Tongariro National Park to Wellington
Today we ask; "why is Wellington NZ's coolest city?" Funky galleries, designer shops, top museums, great restaurants and stylish bars. Oh, that's why.
Day 8 Wellington to Nelson
We trade North Island for South Island with a ferry through the Marlborough Sounds. First stop, an included wine tasting in the Marlborough region Tonight we stay in Nelson.
Day 9 Nelson (Abel Tasman National Park)
Today we can visit nearby Abel Tasman National Park to stroll the walking tracks or take an optional ocean kayak trip. Other choices include horseriding, quad biking or even skydiving.
Day 10 Nelson to Christchurch via Kaikoura
We pass through Rai Valley, stopping in Blenheim, then to Ohau Point to spot fur seals. Later in Kaikoura we can try optional whale watching or dolphin/seal swimming (summer only). Tonight we stay in Christchurch.
Day 11 Christchurch to Fox Glacier
Jaw-dropping scenery as we traverse the Southern Alps. We stop at a jade factory in Hokitika, then visit Lake Matheson. We overnight in Fox Glacier.
Day 12 Fox Glacier to Queenstown
An optional half-day hike or heli-hike on Fox Glacier will live with you forever. Afterwards, our scenic drive passes Thunder Creek Falls, Haast River and Lake Wanaka en-route to adrenalin capital Queenstown.

Day 6 Fraser Island
A full day visit to the world's largest sand island, UNESCO World Heritage-listed Fraser Island We take a 4-wheel drive tour and guided rainforest walk followed by an Aussie BBQ lunch on the banks of stunning Lake McKenzie.
Day 7 Noosa to Kroombit Park
Today we're off to the Outback. At our working cattle station in the bush we can watch a Goat Rodeo, feast on delicious camp oven tucker, and even try our luck on the mechanical bull The scenery's amazing and the hospitality is legendary.
Day 8 Kroombit Park to Emu Park, via Rockhampton
Take an optional quad bike or horse ride before we depart to visit Rockhampton (or "Rocky" to the locals). We then overnight in the beachside town of Emu Park, where we enjoy a real Aussie favourite, a 'reef & beef' dinner.
Day 9 Emu Park to The Whitsundays (Overnight Sailing)
Next we travel to Airlie Beach, resort town and gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. Step aboard our racing maxi-yacht as we head in to the blue, then stargaze from the deck after dark. Bliss.
Day 10 The Whitsundays
We've arrived in Paradise After waking in a sheltered cove, we visit Whitehaven beach, a slice of blinding white-sand perfection. Soak up the sun, swim in the tropical ocean and snorkel over colourful coral reefs. You could even take a turn at the helm Tonight we stay on an idyllic tropical island.
Day 11 The Whitsundays
A whole day to explore the island's unspoilt beaches and azure waters. Feed the Rainbow Lorikeets, relax by the pool, or hike the trails for scenic views, then enjoy Topdeck's Sunset Cocktails and Canapes by the beach this evening.

Day 10-12 Lake Malawi to Lusaka, Zambia (via Lilongwe)
We head via Lilongwe to Zambia, stopping in the capital Lusaka.

Day 13-16 Lusaka to Livingstone
Next is Livingstone, close to Victoria Falls, where we can try white water rafting, bungee jumping or scenic flights. In Mosi Oa Tunya National Park we also visit the incredible 'Falls' themselves, one of Africa's greatest natural wonders.

Day 17 Livingstone to Chobe National Park, Botswana
To Botswana's Chobe National Park. We take a relaxing afternoon 'Fish Eagle' cruise on the Chobe River.

Day 18-20 Chobe National Park to Kruger National Park, South Africa.
South via small towns en-route to South Africa. We make for the stunning Greater Kruger area, famous for its superb landscapes and wildlife encounters.

Day 21 Kruger National Park
Today we game-drive in search of the 'Big Five' in Kruger National Park, South Africa's best known wildlife area. We also enjoy a cultural evening of Shangaan dancing.

Day 2-3 Lake Nakuru NP to Kampala, Uganda
We continue north through the highlands to Eldoret and the Ugandan frontier. Our first stop overnight in Uganda is the bustling capital Kampala.

Day 4 Kampala to Queen Elizabeth NP
We head to Queen Elizabeth National Park where we enjoy a game drive in search of Uganda's natural wildlife, pausing to appreciate the gorgeous views of Lake Edward.

Day 5 Queen Elizabeth NP to Lake Bunyonyi
Today we have the option to track chimpanzees in their natural habitat at Kyambura Gorge! Their structured social groups are quite different to the gentle gorillas we see later in the trip. Afterwards we continue to rural south-west Uganda.

Day 6-9 Gorilla Trek to Kampala
Here in this densely forested area, local guides can lead us through the jungle on an optional trek to see a family of gorillas in the wild. We have a one hour 'audience' with these gentle giants, and you may be surprised at how close you can get and how human-like they are. We may spend several days in the area to allow time for everyone to complete the demanding and memorable trek. We then return to Kampala.

Day 10-12 Kampala to Jinja
We continue to Jinja where there's a chance to relax and assist a local charity in building community schools - an opportunity to make a real difference. Our camp overlooks a dramatic set of rapids and rafting is one of the many optional activities here.

Day 13-14 Jinja to Nairobi, Kenya
We pass through Rift Valley once again as we return to Kenya.

Day 15-18 Nairobi to Maasai Mara
After a day to relax in Nairobi, we travel to Kenya's best known reserve, the Maasai Mara. The Mara's rolling grasslands, broad horizons and abundant wildlife offer a vision of 'classic' Africa. The annual migration of wildebeest and zebra, between July and October, is particularly impressive. We return briefly to Nairobi.

Day 19 Nairobi to Arusha, Tanzania
We cross in to Tanzania and make for 'safari town' Arusha. During our time here we visit a local Maasai village, and also the Meserani Snake Park.

Day 20-22 Arusha - Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater
We switch to smaller 4x4 vehicles for an amazing included 3 day safari to Tanzania's famous Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. In Serengeti we game view by day and camp in the middle of the reserve at night, when the wildlife is free to roam past! We then make camp on the rim of the steep sided Ngorongoro Crater which offers unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities.

Day 23-24 Arusha - Pangani - Dar es Salaam
We journey past Mt Kilimanjaro en-route to the Indian Ocean coast. We spend a night in Tanzania's main port city, Dar es Salaam, our departure point for Zanzibar.

Day 25-28 Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam
We take the ferry to the 'Spice Island' of Zanzibar. Once an important trading centre and an infamous transit post for the slave trade, it's now a relaxing paradise getaway. We have three nights to enjoy Zanzibar's many treasures - 'Stone Town' is the fascinating capital, while there are palm-fringed shores and warm blue waters waiting to be enjoyed on the northern beaches!
