Western Samoa is made up of four inhabited and five uninhabited islands. Upolu, the most developed and populous, contains the capital, Apia. Savai'i is a much larger island and between sit Apolima and Manono.

Although Samoa is hot and humid year-round, from May to October the days are cooled by the south-east trade winds. Samoa offers superb opportunities for surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling and hiking to spectacular inland waterfalls.
