Hong Kong – A Family-Friendly Destination

Hong Kong is a fantastic destination for the electric pace, cultural sights and fantastic food. However for families, it can be challenging to find attractions that appeal to the whole family.

The Peak Tram
Take the Peak Tram from Central Station on Hong Kong Island to Peak Tower for the great views across the city – the tram ride itself can be as exciting as the final destination. Once you’ve reached the top, enjoy browsing through the shopping mall on Victoria Peak. To round out the experience, take the ferry from Kowloon across to the Island.

Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens
After you’ve admire the views from Victoria Peak, head to the Hong Kong Zoo. Big tickets attractions include the Borneo Orang-utan, Lion-tailed Macaque and the Ring-tailed Lemurs. There are also various reptiles such as the Burmese Python, Malayan Box Turtle and the Chinese Alligator.

Ocean Park
Also on Hong Kong Island, also check out the excitement at Ocean Park. Contained within the complex is an extensive aquarium that displays local and exotic fish and super fun roller-coasters. Be sure to take the iconic cable car and admire the cute pandas.

Tian Tan Buddha
The whole family are sure to be in awe of the Tian Tan Buddha, the largest seated Buddha in the world. This is a major landmark in Hong Kong and deserves the trip to Lantau. The various walking paths around the Buddha are also a great way to escape the hustle of Kowloon. And while in the area, consider taking the cable car from Tung Ching Bay to Ngong Ping.

Located on Lantau Island, Disneyland Hong Kong recreates the magic of Disney for kids of all ages. Keen enthusiasts will enjoy Toy Story Land, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventure and the iconic Main Street, where various familiar characters entertain the crowds. To complete the experience, consider staying at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, where many rooms contain Disney-themed amenities.
